
Moving to North London? Considered Archway?
Archway is a small area in North London. North and very close to popular areas to live like Camden and Kentish Town and significantly less to live there. Small with everything you need such as a tube station in zone 2, supermarkets, banks and a leisure Centre.
It is said that it was at Archway that Dick Whittington heard the Bow Bells ringing and returned back to London.
Facilities and amenities- Important buildings in the area include the Whittington hospital on Highgate Hill. The Archway Tavern, A large music venue outside the tube station, where the photograph for the cover of The Kinks' 1971 album Muswell Hillbillies was taken; and the Archway Tower, which forms the most visible landmark in the area.
Archway has a excellent green facilities such as parks and green spaces.
Within a mile of the tube station there is Archway Park, Hillrise Park, Dartmouth Park, Elthorne Park, Sunnyside Gardens, Waterlow Park, Whittington Park, Foxham Gardens, and Tufnell Park Playing Fields.
A library is situated next to the tube station and is open 5 days a week closed on Wednesdays and Sundays
Also in the vasinity there is the excellent leisure centre where a swimming pool, gym and sauna facities can be used.
Tubes/buses: A huge plus for Archway is Archway Tube station. It is located on Zone 2 on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line and will take around 25 minutes to get to Tottenham Court Road.
A large selection of buses from Archway can get you to Turnpike Lane, Kings Cross, Camden and Tottenham Court Road.
Banks – Nationwide, Natwest, Lloyds TSB as well as the post office close to the tube station.
